This German dual-purpose hop is sweet and spicy that has only relatively recently arrived on american shores. It's primary use is in bittering or finishing pilseners and lagers.
A Czech Republic landrace variety, Saaz is the most classic "noble" aroma hop with longstanding and strong traditions. The unique fine aroma of the Saaz variety comes from the original growths of the Saaz and Ausha hop regions. Saaz is a worldwide standard of hop quality specific by its typical gentle hoppy and herbal aroma with tones of citruses in the background. Saaz is mostly applicable to typical Czech lagers as well as to other bottom-fermented beers. Flavour Profile Earthy, Floral, Grassy, Spicy, Woody
